Senior Content & Thought Leadership Manager
Retail loyalty is a subject with a great deal of received wisdom and rather little evidence. That is an opportunity for whoever publishes the evidence first. We are looking for a Senior Content & Thought Leadership Manager to build Lobyco's voice and give the industry something worth reading.
The job#
You will own the editorial strategy, produce our flagship research and points of view, and build the public platform for our leadership team. You will orchestrate as much as you write: getting insight out of busy experts, working across teams, and making sure everything we publish has a reason to exist. If it has no audience and no argument, it should not go out.
Editorial strategy
Decide the themes worth owning, and build a calendar that fits the commercial plan rather than sitting alongside it.
Hold the quality bar for everything that carries the Lobyco name.
Research and argument
Produce original research: surveys, benchmark reports, aggregated platform insight using our AI Genie insights.
Write substantive views on where retail loyalty is heading, with the evidence attached.
The executive platform
Ghostwrite for our CEO, CCO and wider leadership team: posts, articles, keynote arguments and commentary, in their voice rather than yours.
Own award entries, speaking submissions and conference abstracts, and build a list of platforms worth appearing on.
Write a set of signature speeches and train key speakers at Lobyco to deliver them.
Content engine
Create content with repeatable uses across multiple media and applications: built once, used everywhere, and compounding in value over time.
Develop video, podcast, webinar and interactive work alongside writing, since that is increasingly where B2B attention goes.
The website
Own the resource library, blog and content hubs: what sits there, how it is organised, and whether anybody can find it.
Own organic visibility for the topics that matter: search, and being cited by AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude when a buyer asks a machine rather than a search engine.
Report on rankings, citations, share of voice, and the pipeline our content touched.
Customer stories
Work with Customer Success on customer narratives with substance in them
What we are looking for#
Background
Education: journalism, communication, marketing or similar, or a body of published work that speaks for itself.
Five to eight years in content, editorial or communications, at least three of them in technology or another complex sector.
Original research or flagship work you produced, from the question through to publication.
Ghost-writing for senior people, with examples you can talk through.
Experience directing freelancers and contributors to a deadline and a standard
The sort of person this suits
A writer and an editor. You can take a technical subject and make it worth reading.
Range. You can write convincingly as somebody else, and change register without losing quality.
Practical about search and AI visibility, and comfortable with the tooling.
Curious about the retail industry and Lobyco. You will need to find grocery genuinely interesting.
Able to get something useful out of a busy expert who is convinced they have nothing to say. Much of this job is interviewing colleagues.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Fluent in written and spoken English
Curious for more? Have a look at our website/LinkedIn etc. You can also contact VP of GTM and Customer Success Susie Middlemiss directly on LinkedIn.
We will evaluate applications as they come in, so send your application to ro@lobyco.com sooner rather than later.
